Trouble...
this SCREAMS trouble right here people...
no one in this picture has any business near the toilet...
unless either of them have unnatural talents and can actually CLEAN that thing...
then by all means...let me assist you and get the scrub brush...
until then...
back away slowly....
just back away.
Genevieve...
Is it because it is so fleeting...
is it because they are so fragile...
is it because no two are alike...
is it because they smell so sweet...
there is nothing quite like a new born baby.
This one is named Genevieve...
she is my niece...
that's right...MY niece.
That means kisses whenever I want...sweet snuggles...a life time of photo shoots with her.
Lucky us.
Chicks...
Farm Chicks that is....
it happens just once a year....
and if you are very, very, good (think Santa Clause here)...
you may get to go.
and if you are very, very, VERY good...
you may get to go with a dynamic, adorable, lovely mother/daughter duo that trek to the show like it is a religion every year. Cause it is. In tractors we trust, in chippy, sweet, old junk we do believe. Long live farm girls.
A day that started wet, cold and rainy opened up to sunshine and blue skies...
because even the storm clouds have to smile when it's Farm Chicks weekend...
My gal pals...Miss Lily on my left her momma Miss Bonnie on the right...
and just when did twelve year olds start growing taller than me...when...WHEN???
Such a graceful, smart, kind girl that Lily is.
I pray to have girls like that one day...
The only appropriate way to end a day such as this is dinner at Chaps...
hot artichoke dip...roasted root vegetable salad...and CAKE.
Until next year...
Eating spring...
Eating spring...
roasted asparagus...400 degrees, olive oil, s&p, about 8 minutes
walla walla sweet onion mustard...thickly smeared
mozzarella...fresh, thick
sourdough bread
pop this bad boy in the oven at a nice high temp...400 degrees or so...when the cheese starts to bubble...
take it out, cool it a bit (if you can wait)...
EAT.
For the record....
If you could be either on time to events, appointments, school, church ect...or forever patient with your children...which would you choose?
I am giving up on "on time"for this season of my life. I...give...up. Patient, kind mommy and "on time" just do not live in the same house. I'm not sure if they even live on the same planet.
Teaching my children the importance of being timely, prompt is not as important as teaching them to speak and act in a kind, loving way at the ages of 7, 5, and 1.
So for the record...we will be late.
Just know it isn't because of lazy...
it's because I love my kids too much to be on time!
Meant to be...
Five little girls in a field of dandelions...otherwise known as "wishing flowers" if you are four years old and your name is Lily...does it get any better than that...I think not.
I did a photo shoot for a dear friend in exchange for the sweetest clothes for my three girlies.
I have a camera. She has a sewing machine. We were meant to be the best of friends.
