My precious family: mom, dad and brother
You know how you have moments in your life that are seared on your heart or in your mind? Obvious ones like the moment your baby was born, your wedding day, a graduation, or getting "the phone call" late at night.
Then there are moments that don't have any particular good reason for the staying power they posses.
This weekend we had a lovely lunch with my family at my folks house. My brother and his family were there, my mom and dad, my husband and kids and great grandpa.
After we ate everyone was just being...the kids were playing, my mom was cuddling the baby, my husband, brother and sister-in-law lingered at the table while dad and I were on kitchen duty cleaning up after lunch. Great grandpa sat in his wheel chair taking us all in.
As my dad and I moved seamlessly around the kitchen, one loading the dishwasher while the other emptied serving bowls, it hit me.
This feeling that all was right with the world. That it couldn't get any better than this. In the most simple act of family life I felt overwhelmed with wonderful.
It truly surprised me. We have had a million Sabbath lunches together over the years, why on this day, that moment hit me so hard I do not know.
It is now in my treasure chest of memories. For me to take out when ever need be....my moment.
You are a lucky girl to be surrounded by such a great family!
