Can you imagine....

Since we moved home to the Northwest four months ago we have been house hunting... our hunt is finally over. We are now embarking on a serious renovation. Can you imagine white shutters, planter boxes, a white picket fence?
How about walls removed, wood floors , new paint.

White cabinets, new appliances, more wood floors.

Wainscoting and new counter tops.

A place to play, create, family time in the day light basement.

A BIG garden next summer...maybe a swing set and slide...lots and lots of flowers.

A new deck and pergola, climbing vines and a swing.
So here goes our journey from a 1980's (honey oak and brass) house to a country cottage (wainscoting, white painted cabinets) home.

  1. I absolutely love it...love the space, the backyard for girls to play in, and things to grow..and especially love the back deck for sitting and sipping coffee and wondering at God's handiwork. I WILL be back to Washington...I MUST see your house when it has become a home.

  2. I can only think of one more thing, with that big of a yard, that all little girls need...A Pony! We have one on our acre...don't Audra and Elliot want one??? They come in mini size, just perfect for brushing and hugging and dressing up...

  4. I'm a total stranger to you, but may I make one suggestion? If you're already planning on tearing things out, perhaps consider ripping out that dropped ceiling in your kitchen with the fluorescent lights - after living with dropped ceilings in two kitchens (2 different houses, 7 years total), I bribed my husband into ripping our current kitchen ceiling out and replacing it with can lights - it made all the difference in the world and was worth every penny. No more feeling like I was hunched over in a low-ceilinged cave (and I'm only 5'2"). What a fun project/process for you!

  5. Wow big dreams! I love the ideas. Now just how quickly are you going to do all of this? It has taken me YEARS to get our house with the picket fence and roses growing. And it may take awhile to get the side garden pulled together as well. It's a great house. Fill it with love, children, and memories!
