Have yourself...

a merry little Christmas

Be merry....

It is that time of year when we are obligated to be merry...
bright even.
That can be a tough one folks.
It should be easy...but it isn't always.

This week my car broke down leaving me stranded at home with three frazzled kids and much not getting done.
When I talk to family on the phone far away, they sound sad, depressed, it's not our Christmas to be with them.  I feel guilty and responsible.
My husband has been working so hard...he looks weary.
And money...well it's tight.

Be merry.
Be bright.

I know full well there are folks out there with burdens so heavy they make mine feel light.
If ever there was a time to let go of the stuff that needs letting go...it is now.

Whatever burdens you today, may you find rest from it.
May you find a bit of merry...
a bit of bright.

A Christmas sweater....

This is as close as I can get to donning a festive Christmas sweater...

I should tell you....

Tomorrow will only be the second day of Christmas vacation for my kids...

I used all my great ideas for keeping busy while on Christmas vacation in one day...
and the car is broken....

it could be a very, VERY long Christmas vacation trapped inside with these wild, crazy monkeys!

Christmas explosion...

Christmas has exploded at our house.

I forgot to water the tree two days in a row...she is rebelling (yes, our Christmas tree is a girl...how could she not be...there are four women in this house).

We have a Christmas program to go to this week...I know one four year old who will be singing her heart out.

We will make 23 friendship bracelets this week...I have one seven year old that has a big heart and crafty hands.

I have one 8 month old who's poop smells like the fresh scent of pine...any guesses as to what she has been putting in her mouth these days?

Katie's words...

Words found on the internet today that stirred my soul....

"i'm thankful for the knowledge that even the smallest and simplest of lives deserve to be great...that we get to work on it every single day.
and i'm oh so thankful for those catalyst people in my life that remind me everyday..."
                                                                                                                               -katie

I have only the faintest memory now of what I was like before them.

The good that is in me, they ignited.

The beauty, the chaos,

my life,

is FULL because of them.

Day 231 of life...

 She is mighty...

she is small...

she is strong...

she is feisty...

she is precious...

she is mine.
